The Utility Billing Customer Service Department compiles meter readings based on meters read, billing of water, sewer, and garbage collection, issues work orders for rechecks of meters, turn on and off of services, monitors and collects on delinquent accounts, and provides customer service with the ability to serve the customer in an appropriate manner.

 

The Utility Department offers several convenient ways to pay your bill.

Pay In Person

You may pay your utility bill at City Hall. Payment methods that are accepted are as follows:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Money Order
  • Credit Card
  • Debit Card

Pay by Drop Box

The payment drop box is located at the drive thru window at City Hall and is open from 8:00am - 4:00pm.

When using the drop box after normal business hours, please use check or money order only.

The City of Temple does not recommend placing cash inside the drop box as cash can easily fall from an envelope.

Pay by Mail

Payments can be made by check or money order. Please include the water bill stub and place your account number on the check or money order to ensure the payment is applied to the correct account.

Late Bills & Water Disconnect Day

How it works:

  • Utility bills are mailed out the first week of each month, and are due by the 20th.
  • Bills that are received after the 20th are subject to a 10% penalty charge.
  • Utility bills that are not paid by the end of each month will result in disconnection on the 10th of the subsequent month.
  • Any payment made on a delinquent account on or after the 10th are subject to a $50 reconnect fee.
  • Each customer is allowed 2 payment arrangements each year. If you would like to set up an arrangement or if you have an inquiry about our policies, you may contact us at (770) 562-3369 and we would be glad to assist you.

 

* Failure to receive your bill does not exempt payment. The City of Temple is not responsible for late remittance made through the mail service.

* No payments will be accepted by field service technicians.
